Job Description
The Manufacturing Reliability Engineer plays a critical role in DTSM Chiba operation.
He/She is responsible for facility/equipment maintenance strategy, improving reliability and availability loss by developing and executing the preventive and predictive maintenance plan.
Our equipment and facilities are old, which needs to be replaced accordingly. He/She is expected to make the strategic replacement plan to meet the business objectives along with minimizing the planned down time.
He/She is also responsible for our facility/equipment to comply with Japanese law and Dupont’s requirement like PSM(MIQA).
Work with regional/global members.
He/She is expected to be the maintenance group leader, the group is small, but needs to manage the team member to maximize the team’s effort. Also He/She works with regional/global members for getting the strategy/guidance of maintenance, and exchanging the best practice etc.
Key Responsibilities
Develop equipment reliability strategies and plan of responsible operating unit based on critical equipment list and business/plant requirement. Execute and/or manage planned maintenance activity of responsible unit. Manage and report reliability performance to ensure the unit strategies.
Participate and facilitate preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives to minimize failure or reactive maintenance. Identify the opportunity for improvement to improve operating reliability.
Registration of maintenance plan of new facilities and equipment based on process hazard and reliability risk analysis. Lead and facilitate corrective actions and revision of related documents. From specification and design, until removal from operating facilities.
Develop capital strategy of Run & Maintain (R&M) category projects.
Be accountable and provide technical leadership for responsible operating unit to ensure Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance (MIQA) incorporated into the site MIQA system. Ensure and monitor compliance of regulatory requirements.
Participate in PSM initiatives and provide technical expertise.
Execute root cause analysis of equipment or facility related process failures, or out of control. Lead and ensure corrective actions and develop preventive action plans.
Works with plant personnel to support business and plant specific goals (safety, quality, reliability, cost, etc)
Requirement
Bachelor’s degree of Engineering, or equivalent. electrical or mechanical background is preferred.
At least 3-5 years of maintenance experience in Manufacturing or related field.
Business level English and Japanese skills.(TOEIC 700 or higher is preferred)
Self-motivated and positive minded
Preferred Qualifications
Process safety experience.
Working experience in a manufacturing site, specialty chemical industry is preferred.
