The Role: Your interest and knowledge in permitting and approvals is critical for successful project delivery. In a practice that’s growing, you will be part of Hatch’s global Environment and Sustainability Practice that collaborates and partners with clients, communities, stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and
Hatch’s engineering teams to solve our clients most challenging problems. The opportunity is unique: Hatch’s wealth of technical engineering expertise combined with exceptional environmental expertise allows for innovative solutions to the most complex project challenges.

The Role:
• Support and develop your skills in regulatory and permitting as part of our existing environmental consulting practice in the areas of Infrastructure, Energy, and Metals.
• Learn, deliver, and support the preparation of Environmental Assessments, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, Regulatory Strategies and Roadmaps, Permit Applications, and Regulatory submissions.
• Support and develop Environment related business opportunities with clients and companies working in the mining, energy and infrastructure sectors through your hard work and successful support of existing projects.
• Provide support of field programs and successful implementation of field studies.
• Offer strong self-management skills, coordination of key environmental and client deliverables.
• Participate in resource planning and mentorship in building your career.
• Work collaboratively with integrated, multidisciplinary teams, liaising with and supporting global peers.
Your profile:
• Post-secondary education in environmental sciences, impact assessment, environmental legislation, or environmental policy.
• Eligibility for registration/in-training designations with professional bodies.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in consulting and an ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of Biological Sciences, ESIA, permitting and approvals and regulatory requirements across Canada and within provinces and territories.
• Creative and approachable and a team player with a willingness to recommend innovative solutions to clients.
• A willingness to proactively meet clients’ needs whether big or small.
