As the successful candidate, you will:
Provide leadership, mentoring and management (including work allocation) for the team of piping professionals in the region.Undertake Client engagement and supporting proposal development
Assist in defining project scope
Assist the Engineering Manager with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule
Lead the piping discipline on projects of all phases from concept studies to execution
Manage a team of engineers and designers to deliver the piping scope for projects, ensuring that budget, schedule and quality requirements are met
Ensure all work performed by the piping engineering discipline complies with the relevant sections of statutory requirements and standards
Maintain a strong health and safety focus within the piping discipline
Manage the piping discipline’s engineering deliverables and time-based functions to facilitate the planning and control of the engineering budget and take corrective action if necessary
Maintain the Project’s piping technical documentation and revise as required during the design evolution
Oversee and manage the development of the piping 3D models
Develop a Piping Material Class index and participate in the selection of piping materials
Potentially work in field engineering roles working with constructors to respond to site technical queries
Be a champion of diversity and inclusion
You bring to the role:
BSc/B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Strong technical background in the piping engineering discipline
Strong deliverable focus and ability to plan the work
A high degree of understanding of inter-discipline dependencies related to the piping discipline
Experience working on large or complex projects in a multidisciplinary environment
Experience in working with, building and managing diverse, multicultural teams that are located in different parts of the world
Excellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply (and oversee others to comply) with Hatch, Client and/or legal safety regulations
Registration as a professional engineer
Authentic and empathetic leadership
Ability to build high functioning teams – to surpass clients expectations
