The Role

There is an exciting opportunity within Council's Engineering Services for an enthusiastic, customer-focused, highly skilled Senior Transport Engineer to join our Transport team. Reporting to the Transport Coordinator, this role supports the preparation and development of transport and parking related policies, strategies, procedures and guidelines and provides leadership and guidance to a team of five Transport Engineers.

You will also plan, monitor, review and control Council's transport network including infrastructure development, traffic and parking management programs in collaboration with transport partners and service providers.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

• Degree in Civil/Transport Engineering. Additional qualifications in transport engineering, planning and/or management will be considered favourably.
• Demonstrated leadership, negotiation and people management skills.
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to write and present reports, correspondence, policies and information in a variety of formats.
• Substantial knowledge and experience in traffic and transport engineering, planning and design practices and principles within a local government environment or equivalent.
• Experience in best practice contract and tendering management particularly related to transport and traffic engineering capital projects and consulting services.
• Professional Engineers Registration in Victoria.
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
