Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Architectural Designer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Gurgaon/ Gurugram – Delhi NCR
As the successful candidate, you will:
• Produce deliverables to illustrate conceptual, schematic and detailed design including massing models, diagrams and sketches.
• Produce diagrams, isometrics and sketches of building components intended for design brief reports, presentation material, brochures, etc.
• Produce architectural construction drawing sets.
• Coordinate their work with other disciplines and input with the architectural work receiving direction from senior architectural staff.
• Assist with the review of construction administration documents.
You bring to the role:
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Graduated from a post-secondary institution with a degree/ diploma in architecture, building sciences, architectural design, architectural technologists, etc.
• Has moderate understanding of national, regional and local building codes, by-laws, design guidelines, graphic standards, CCDC, CHOP, material and performance certifications, standards and testing from organizations such as LEED, ULC, ANSI, ASTM, CAN/CSI, NFPA, FM Global, etc.
• Worked in collaboration with multiple disciplines and coordinated the architectural design with the impacts to other disciplines. e.g.: fire compartments impact to ductwork and electrical penetrations, rainwater leaders route from roof to underground tanks through the building, roof framing for openings of HVAC equipment, etc.
• Assisted construction administration tasks providing input to documents such as RFIs shop drawings, samples, site instructions, site visits, change orders, bill of materials, cost estimates, etc.
• Produced presentation material including sketches, details, perspectives, diagrams and similar graphic representation by hand and/or with design software (Including Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint etc.)
• Produced architectural construction drawings, including but not limited to: context plans, site plans, OBC matrix, assembly types, floor plans, demolition plans, renovation plans, roof plans, exterior elevations, interior elevations, sections, wall sections, millwork, interior finishes, parking layouts, life and safety drawings, details, schedules, etc.
• Worked extensively with design software for production of drawing/ model deliverables such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, AECOsim, Open Buildings and other similar programs.
• Worked extensively with graphic design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
• Worked with administrative software such as MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, ProjectWise, MS Teams, Webex, etc.
• Ability to learn new standards, skills, software and tools required to perform the work.
Preferred
• 2+ years of transit, mining, or nuclear experience in Canada.
• Worked in production of renderings using software such as 3D Max, Sketchup, FormIT, VRAY, Lumion, etc.
• Worked with parametric design software for production of models with Rhino, Grasshopper 3D, etc.
• Used software such as Bluebeam Studio, Brava!, or iPas DM to perform quality checks, interdisciplinary review sessions and mark-ups of documents.
• Worked with tridimensional survey files that use point clouds or other means of field verifications. Using software such as Edgewise, Recap, Navisworks, etc.
