Dynamic Earth Solutions (DES) specializes in site planning, spatial information and digital terrain modeling, surface and subsurface investigations, rock mechanics, underground structures, geotechnical laboratory services, flood forecasting and water resource management through our geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development expertise.
Looking to take the next step in your career? Join our team today! Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Montreal.
As the successful candidate, you will:
Participate in advanced geotechnical studies
Perform conceptual and detailed geotechnical engineering design
Participate in scoping requirements for proposals
Prepare and/or review project procedures, standard specifications and design criteria
Develop factual and interpretive geotechnical reports
Scope, manage and participate in field investigations for projects
Prepare engineering calculations where required
Carry out various analyses and modeling: slope stability, settlement, seepage, etc.
Prepare technical specifications where required
Prepare and contribute to technical memos and reports
Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates
Undertake construction supervision and management dependent upon project demands
Liaise with prospective clients
Work to ensure the implementation of safety in design and integrity principles in design documentation
Maintain a strong focus on personal safety and the safety of staff
You bring to the role:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university
Graduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering is considered an asset
Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Quebec
5+ years of experience in relevant geotechnical field
ASP Construction card
Bilingual (French/English)
Knowledge of geotechnical software
Experience with working on projects in a multi-disciplinary environment
Sound understanding of design engineering codes and technical standards
Strong written skills to prepare reports, proposals and other project deliverables
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good planning and organizational skills
Ability to function with minimal supervision
Good safety awareness
