About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for a Development Engineer, to undertake engineering construction plan checking and approval of development applications. You will be highly sort after to provide specialist advice in the areas of road construction and drainage for new development proposals. You will be collaborative, team focused and driven to provide outcomes.

Reporting to the Senior Development Engineer, your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• New Development, provide a development approvals function to deal with development construction plans, drainage, and technical assessments for new development, and service authority approvals.
• General, project manage major drainage strategies and investigate and provide solutions for local drainage issues.
• Customer Service, ensure the provision of all services with a focus on customer service and industry best practice

About You

To be successful in this role you will be an influential senior with a strong understanding of infrastructure improvement works in municipal environments. You will have the ability to lead and impart knowledge onto others. Your highly developed interpersonal skills, will hold you in good stead when consulting with consultants and key stakeholders regarding proposed works You will also meet the following criteria:

• Demonstrated experience in the assessment of new development proposals.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, entitling membership of The Institute of Engineers, would be considered an advantage.
• An understanding of infrastructure improvement works in municipal environments.
• Ability to project manage, including the co-ordination of tasks, set priorities and work to timelines in a pressured environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with reading and interpreting engineering drawings including the use of CAD based software
