About our Traineeship Program for 2023
Parkes Shire Council is offering traineeship opportunities for highly motivated and enthusiastic people looking to gain on-the-job experience and practical knowledge whilst working towards a nationally accredited qualification.
In 2023 we will be offering traineeships in the following nationally accredited qualifications:
The traineeship program will be fully supported and include on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring from experienced professionals and you will receive a Nationally Accredited Qualification through a Registered Training Organisation.

About this opportunity as a Trainee Ranger/Regulatory Services
As a Trainee Ranger/Regulatory Services you will complete a Cert IV in Local Government Regulatory Services which will be 100% supported. The Trainee Ranger works closely with the Senior Ranger and Ranger/Parking Officer in undertaking the regulatory and compliance functions of the Department. The Trainee will perform a range of tasks (see Position Description below) whilst receiving on-the-job training and completing structured study over a two-year period.

As a trainee you will be employed under the Traineeship Band of the Local Government (State) Award 2020. The commencement level will be based on age and any prior qualifications/experiences. You will progress through the traineeship band on an annual basis dependent on satisfactory work performance and course progression.

About the Parkes Region
