Where can water take you?
Advancing your career will advance our community too.
Water Corporation exists to make WA a great place to live and invest by delivering water services safely, with the lowest environmental impact and at the lowest total cost. The Strategic Planning Office (SPO) is a newly-created, highly collaborative function, which will play a key role in enabling us to achieve this vision for our customers and community.
About the role:
Tired of talking about change and not seeing it happen? Welcome to 2020 – and what 75% of businesses experience as the world of work rapidly changes and leaves them gathering dust.
However, this time, things will be different.
Backed by the CEO and executive team, it’s your job as an Analyst – Strategic Change Management to examine data and develop meaningful insights that’ll help everyone around you work smarter.
If you’ve analysed and presented data sets in visualisation tools (like PowerBI, Tableau etc) for a handful of years, you’ll know what it takes to track and monitor changes. Changes that’ll help a business of over 3,000 people feel supported and knowledgeable about the direction they’re heading in.
In this role, you’ll be playing a significant part in supporting Water Corporation’s shift towards a more agile business model. To help us get there, you’ll extract and analyse data, then provide sound recommendations and advice that’ll support effective decision making across the business.
On top of this, you’ll track the capacity for change across the organisation. This includes the level of change complexity and impact, risks and issues relating to people, processes and systems - and the timing of change.
Through your tracking, you’ll be able to build a reporting suite that supports a single view of change complexity and impact.
You’ll work in Leederville. It’s a small, vibrant suburb with plenty of cafes and nice places to eat. And you’ll only have to walk 5 to 6 minutes from the train station to get to your desk.
You’ll also learn a lot from your colleagues in the SPO. Like you, they’re joining because they want to see their change management work visibly come to life in a large, complex business. The type of work that looks good on your CV and gets you promotions.
Speaking of which, Water Corporation has developed a savvy learning and development framework, which means you can add to your existing arsenal of skills and further your career with a company that actively promotes from within.
When you’re working with people who believe in you, it makes your job a lot more enjoyable. As does the flexibility to avoid the weekly rush hour traffic by working from home 1-2 days a week.
Key Skills and Experience:
If you’re wondering what qualifications you might need, a degree or tertiary qualification in Data Analytics will put you on the right path. That said, your personality is more important than your exam results.
Because things are gathering pace, you’ll be able to hit the ground running with your sound ability to extract, analyse and present data sets that provide sound recommendations and advice.
On a final note, if you’ve done all of the above in a large, complex business, you’ll be on the right path towards the next stage in your career.
