Whilst there are many types of engineering categories and specialist areas, these can sometimes be referred to in numerous ways depending on the industry, country you find yourself in and possibly historical reasons too. They are often changing and being added to. Therefore, because Flexi Engineers is based in Australia, we have adopted the Engineers Australia Specific Areas of Practice, of which there are currently 27. These all include the five main type of Engineering: Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Structural Engineering.
The 27 specific areas of practice are: Aerospace Engineering; Amusement rides and devices; Asset Management; Biomedical Engineering; Building Services Engineering; Chemical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Construction; Cost Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Environmental Engineering; Fire Safety Engineering; Geotechnical Engineering; Heritage and conservation engineering; Information, Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering; Leadership and management; Mechanical Engineering; Mechatronics Engineering; Naval Architecture; Oil and Gas Pipeline Engineering; Petroleum Engineering; Pressure equipment design verification; Project management; Risk engineering; Structural Engineering; Subsea engineering; Systems engineering. If you do not see your type of engineering, either choose the closest area of practice and then enter your industry sector underneath (in your profile), or select "Other / Misc".

Companies who advertise with Flexi Engineers will have their job sent to Google. This does two things. Firstly, the job will appear in google results and secondly, the job will get sent to Google’s new Job Search system. As of November 2022, Google for Jobs is not listed as available yet in Australia, but it is in many regions around the world. This will ultimately help attract more traffic to jobs advertised on Flexi Engineers who may be interested in moving to Australia to start a new engineering role!
No, Flexi Engineers is not like a recruitment agency, staffing service, temp firm, or head hunter. We do not place people into positions, and we do not manage the payment process between an employer and job seekers. Flexi Engineers is a new online resource for engineers and related engineering job seekers, we provide a platform for engineers to showcase their skills, upload their CVs, and for companies to showcase their company and provide one place to advertise their current job openings as part of their profile. Further to this, we aim to advertise professional legitimate opportunities and organised within relevant engineering industry categories.
We do not charge Commission or Head Hunter / Finder fees.
